Get Connected with these October & November Community Events

Fall is a great time for pumpkin picking, Halloween festivals, and all things spooky. But it’s also a great time to celebrate community events! The Southern Wake County and Greater Harnett County areas are abuzz with special and annual events in the next two months.

Check out a few of the highlights we collected during October and November, and get connected with the community!

2018 Chalk Fest

A chalk drawing of a rainbow.Do you fancy yourself a regular Picasso of sidewalk art? Show off yours skills at the 2018 Chalk Fest in Dunn, a community event co-sponsored by the Harnett County Arts Council and the locally-owned business The Cellar. You can either draw solo or gather a team, then create a masterpiece in a five foot by five foot square of top-notch cement.

There will be three different age groups competing, and artists have a limited amount of time to complete their piece before judging. Each division has three different awards — Best in Show, Best Design, and Best Use of Color — and winners receive a cash price.

If you’re in it to take home some hardware, then give it your all for the Popularity Vote. Whoever garners the most votes from the general public gets a trophy!
